COISSA Announces New Webinar Series and Quarterly Chapter Meeting Format
Central Ohio ISSA (COISSA) is excited to introduce the COISSA Connect Series, a new initiative aimed at delivering focused, high-quality educational content to the local information security community. This webinar-based series will provide concise, single-topic sessions led by industry experts, offering participants valuable insights and actionable strategies—all in an accessible, virtual format.
The launch of the COISSA Connect Series is a direct response to member feedback, which highlighted the difficulty of committing to extended in-person meetings each month. To better support our members’ busy schedules, these sessions are designed to be shorter, impactful, and easily accessible from anywhere. Each webinar will focus on a specific topic, providing tailored education while fostering connections between our local security professionals and industry leaders.
The first COISSA Connect Series webinar is set for February 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM ET. We’re thrilled to feature Dr. Denise Bergstrom, a leading voice in cybersecurity, who will present on "Applying the Critical Controls to Your Business."
This series will complement the newly revamped Quarterly Chapter Meetings, which are being redesigned to better serve the COISSA community. These meetings will now feature a shorter, streamlined format with added networking opportunities, allowing members to connect more meaningfully while maximizing their time. Together, the webinars and quarterly meetings offer a dynamic and engaging way to stay informed, build relationships, and strengthen the local security community.
“We are constantly evolving to meet the needs of our members,” said Robert Kinzer, COISSA President. “By launching the Connect Series and reimagining our chapter meetings, we’re delivering the education and networking opportunities our members want in a format that fits their busy lives.”
Additional details, including registration information for the first webinar, will be shared soon. Stay updated by visiting our website, following us on social media, or contacting us directly at service@coissa.org.
